It looks like the creepy site that had my blog on their site doesn't have it anymore, and I've been able to keep my blog public without having people randomly come across it. All is well, and I'm public again. :)
It wasn't hard at all. Under settings, there is a spot to click where you can be excluded from being chosen as "next blog," that thing you can click at the top of the blog. You can also ask that it not appear in search engine searches. I like being public because I don't know exactly who is reading and I don't want to cut them off, but that weird site freaked me out a bit.
I'd be interested to know how you did that, made it so people can't randomly find it. The internet can be a spooky place.....
