First, the sickness update. Anne Marie is still sick, but she seems to have finally turned the corner. Her rash, which was supposed to take weeks to clear up, was gone in five days. Here it is at its worst:
But the pneumonia that the poor girl had before the rash was still there. She spent several days with a fever, incredibly groggy and lethargic. She gave me a scare. And, to top it off, her chest x-ray showed a possible heart abnormality. The doctor said it was likely nothing, but they'll check it again when she's healthy. I'm going with that theory as well.
For two days, though, she's had no symptoms except for a cough! I'm thrilled. Hopefully, she's on the mend.
In running news, I RAN FIVE MILES! I haven't done that since high school. Yay!!!
In walking news, here's a video. My voice is ultra-annoying on it!

We can't catch a break
Here is what poor Anne Marie woke up to this morning. Turns out she had an allergic reaction, probably to her ear infection antibiotic, but of course she doesn't get a normal allergic reaction. Those horrible red hives are actually erythemia multiforme. The doctor told me it was mild, and to remember that if I looked it up on the Internet. So of course I looked it up, and it's scary! The mild form isn't bad, but if it gets worse, it's incredibly deadly. It makes me want to curl up and cry. I hope that this doesn't get worse, and that it doesn't scar. At best, though it will clear up in 3-6 weeks. That's forever! When we took her to the doctor's office, people pulled their children away so they wouldn't catch her disease (It's not contagious, but since they didn't know, I don't blame them). It's going to be tough to have that happen everywhere we go for six weeks, though. Those looks make me want to cry or slap somebody. On the good side, she doesn't feel sick at all. She's perfectly happy. Wish us luck these next few weeks!

Baby on the move!
My baby is on the move! I don't have any photos, because the dirty bugger decided to try walking at her uncle's house, not mine. Matt and I went on a Mother's Day date last night, and between dinner and the movie we decided to call and make sure all was well. I heard Matt say, "You're kidding me ..." and, "Emily is going to be p**sed!"
They sent me video over the phone of my baby WALKING! Of course, I wasn't mad that she didn't wait for me, but now I have to deal with Alex and my mom saying they taught her how to walk. :)
So she can take three steps at a time, only when she's wearing shoes. I'm super pumped! It was a nice Mother's Day present.
In other news, Anne Marie, my mom and I did a "Mom and Me" 5K this morning. It was fun. Anne Marie sat in the stroller and waved at everyone as we passed them and they passed us.

Update
It's been awhile, so I thought I'd do a general update.
First, this is how we celebrated May Day. What the heck? I'm a snow lover, but this is getting to be a bit much.
In other icky news, I took Anne Marie to the doctor today and got antibiotics for her DOUBLE ear infection and eye infection. She was not a happy camper last night or this morning. Hopefully tonight we'll all sleep.
In funny news, Anne Marie LOVES artichokes. I steamed some for dinner last night because Matt was coming home late, and I figured Anne Marie could eat earlier. I didn't think artichokes were baby-eating friendly. I guess the concept of ripping artichoke flesh off with her teeth was fun, though, so she ended up having two dinners last night.
Also, my peas are finally coming up. There might be hope for spring after all.
